Final Piece for Project 1

  1. I absolutely love how what the subject is drawing appears to be what is happening to the room; I get a feeling of controlling one's destiny. A very democratic photograph.

I can't really think of any improvements; I like your decision to leave the subject alone and only change background. It works very well to bring him out of what's going on behind.

  2. Wow.

This photo to me exemplifies what goes on in the world/mind of an artist. While we leave ourselves quiet and seemingly stand offish, our minds are continuously filling up with imagination and creativity. That same creativity is exuded in our work and hopefully inspiring to our peers. I love the composition of the subject, where his hand is n the foreground where his body is behind. This shows his most sacred talent; his drawing.
    Great Job.

  3. haha this is so psychedelic i love it! i feel like this image is vibrating with how hard this man is thinking about his drawing, he is radiating concepts for his drawing. Very nice image and well thought out, i really appreciate that you left your image in black and white and animated everything else . good job

  4. wow, this is just bazaar! the hand in the foreground is what caught my attention first because it seems so disproportional. i like that you left him muted and brought everything else out vividly, its like he's thinking about the color palette he wants to use for whatever he's doing, which would actually mimic your image.

  5. i love the movement you created in this photo. I think it was a wise decision to leave the main figure one solid, subtle color and create the environment around him. It really makes every element in this piece important and relevant. great work, mark!

  6. This guy is some kinda artist. Nice juxtaposition to have the color outside the person. Seems as if he is beginning to be sucked down some multicolored rabbit hole into an artistic realm. Nice detail on the hand of the subject, in general strong compostion for a portrait.

  7. I love the whole composition of this image...it has alot of movement and is interesting to look at. Great idea too, its like whatever the subject is drawing is coming to life in the real world around him. I also like that you left the subject grey scale, it make him seem like an instrument in the creation of art.

  8. awesome image, distortion, angle, the colors are all powerful elements. the contrast between the figure with subtle color and what is going on around supports the concept!

  9. I feel sort of dazed when I look at this image (good thing). It makes me feel like a hippie. I love the colors, and the fact that the person has no color makes the background colors stand out even more! I like how close you are to the hand out in front.
